Good wines
Best Burger I've eaten. Haven't been there for over 3 years and still remember it.
I'm only giving this two stars because the setting was nice - it's right on the coast and the view is lovely. However... The staff couldn't have been colder - they were not nice at all - the and honestly a little snobby. The wine wasn't even good! Do yourself a favor and go to Stolo in Cambria. The staff there are so friendly and the wine is DELICIOUS! They have a huge grassy area and couldn't have been nicer.
Beautiful place... Although they really need to find a excellent food kitchen like the previous location
One of those moments where you just take a chance on a place and you end up sharing a fantastic experience. Sharing a delicious bottle of Chardonnay while wave crash
This spot is worth a try. They serve big portions for fair prices. Consistently neat and with fantastic mood. Will visit here again.
We decided to stop here for Sebastian's as it was popping up on Google as highly rated. We were sad to hear it is no longer there.Luckily it ended up being for the better. They had a taco truck (one day only as their normal food truck had prior engagements) the food was phenomenal. While we were there we figured we would try some wine (we aren't wine drinkers), Casey gave us phenomenal service and we ended up really enjoying a few of the wines. So far on our trip, it has been the best part of an awesome vacation. Hope we can come back sometime!
Best breakfast ever! Pulled off at the Hearst Ranch Winery here in San Simeon off Route 1 North @ Pacific Coast Highway, and sunk my molars into an absolutely juicy Green Chilii Pepper-jack Burger, with beef fresh from the Hearst Ranch which sits on 88,000 acres right behind me. Topped it off with the yummiest Cabernet Sauvignon I’ve had in a very long time, their “Bunkface” 2016, paired with a Gurkha Cellar Reserve 15 Years. Mountains to my rear, the Pacific Ocean 🌊 to my front, I could retire like this to this view daily!!!
The winery is so big and Clea! Also you can seet by the beach! You can have Cheese and crackers! But you can buy it! Nice admosfiera!
We went to Hearst Ranch Winery because we were told that Sebastian's, the restaurant on site, was previously owned as a local market by Thorndike, the original Light House Keeper at Piedras Blancas. The tasting room is nicely set and it has a nice selection of wines. I was happy to see them offet a single varietal of Cabernet Franc. I couldn't find one at the local Paso Robles wineries. It paired nicely with my sandwich from Sebastian's. Additionally, as an LGBT patron, I was incredibly happy to see that your restrooms were up to code and identified restrooms as "Whatever" gender. That was a first for me. Thank you.
NIGHTMARE experience. We decided to try Hearst winery for the first time and made the drive, walked up to the winery bar, asked "JP" for 2 Reserve tastings and to sell us some wine and JP basically told us in so many words that he "was really busy, and to go over to the other side of the winery bar to get served by another employee". We were so turned off by JP's condescending negative behavior immediately left, decided not to have lunch there, and will NEVER return. We'll be sure to share the way we were treated with everyone we know. We are members of many wine clubs and have never been treated the way "JP" treated us. WOW.
I love the wines and the service. My husband and I discovered Hearst in March of 2018. It has been one of our favorite wineries since then. We travelled to Paso last week and brought friends. Our intention was to introduce them to many of our favorite Paso wineries and vineyards. Hearst was a non-negotiable stop. Covid has changed the tastings and interaction but the service was still phenomenal. Take the time to visit them. You will not be disappointed.
We've stopped at Hearst Ranch Winery for years as we drive south. It can be very crowded due to the Castle crowd and other visitors. While the staff is nice they generally don't have much time to spend discussing the wines.
fun
Go there for the history or the peaceful settingProprietary Cab or the Chardonnay or the RoseBunkhouse or the Randy. The best Moscato I’veever tasted. Debbie is fabulous Casey the sameJ.P. rocks! Smiles come easy at HRW. Delicious!!
Good wines. We enjoy burgers at Sebastian's as well. Nice people. We are wine club members.
They are very slow (20+ mins)and numbers of orders came in after me. I was informed that they throw all items in at same time (fish and chips) why don’t they do it to order. This place is a nightmare.
We stopped by on our way up the coast. The views and wine tasting experience is the most spectacular I have experienced. You don't want to leave the place!
The Castle makes it all magical, the wine is delicious, location incredible. Sail in and enjoy the stay.
Looked nice, unfortunately they stop offering wine tasting at 4:45 despite closing at 5.
The location in a converted barn overlooking the little cove and the San Simeon pier is magnificent. The food and wine are fantastic and the people working friendly. J.P. at the wine tasting counter was especially .great
Nice people and nice place. Too bad they moved out, but the cider house is good too.
Best wine on the Coast! Amazing views and enchanting history. The food served until 4pm is all Hearst Ranch grass fed beef and is delicious
This was a surprise! Located in the tiny and sleepy town of San Simeon at the foot of the Hearst Ranch, did expect to find this. The tastings I had were good and I'd recommend their wine club if you like what you taste. They'll ship it to you and you won't have to make the drive over unless you want.
Beautiful view and get some wine..
had a glass before we went any further!

Nice wines and friendly people. If you're in the area stop in and enjoy.
Nice place to come for wine tasting. Has food truck if you want food. Nice setting good views
Enjoyed our latest visit to Hearst Ranch Winery that it deserved an updated review. We are all about sharing great experiences. We must say this one was Amazing thanks to Bruce our wine sommelier. Bruce brought in the fun when he brought out the big guns, the solimanazar. A case of wine fills that bottle. Our Fav was the Cab Sauvignon
I loved everything about this. The staff serving were amazing, wine fantastic, food ,faboulous. I am giving 3 stars because we were unable to leave a tip electronically. Most people do not travel with cash. We thought this was not fair to the wonderful staff. I hope when we return one day thus will be corrected. Thanks so much
Beautiful ambiance, good wine selection. General store is lacking though. Still, a must stop on PCH
